HORIZON - My Schedule

General Tips on HORIZON
HORIZON has been optimized for monitors set to 800 by 600 pixels or greater. HORIZON will fill about ¾ of your screen if your monitor is set to 1024 by 768 pixels. Use the Back buttons in HORIZON to navigate, rather than Back on your browser. If you get stuck, click on Need Help?, which is on many of the pages, for quick help.

Call 800-268-7070 or email us at support@discoverhorizon.com for help.
When you are done, logout each time for security reasons.

In this session, we will see how the My Schedule page works. We will start with screen size tip, then cover:

1. Increasing the Size of the Screen
2. Overview
3. Search Options
4. Sort Options
5. Viewing Work Orders and Reports
6. Credit Balance

1. Increasing the Size of the Screen
1.1. Before we start this session, here’s a tip to maximize your screen size. This applies to those using Internet Explorer as their browser. (Other browsers may have the same capability.)
1.2. You can use the F11 key to hide the banner and navigation bars at the top of the screen and see more of HORIZON without scrolling. Let’s look at it.
1.3. The default view of the My Schedule screen. With a screen resolution of 1024 by 768, your screen will look like Figure 1:

Figure 1

2. Overview
2.1. When you log in to HORIZON you are brought to the My Schedule screen, which looks like Figure 2.

Figure 2

2.2. The My Schedule screen is your main screen, much like a home page.
2.3. It has the navigational toolbars across the top (like all screens).
2.4. You can logout from this screen (like all screens).
2.5. The My Schedule screen shows how many report credits you have available. Writing one report uses one
credit. You can see this company has 969 credits available.
2.6. You can also see a list of the inspections that are currently in progress. Several details are shown including
2.6.1. The report number (assigned automatically by HORIZON when the work order is created)
2.6.2. The inspector who is doing the inspection
2.6.3. The inspection address
2.6.4. The client’s name
2.6.5. The status of the inspection
2.6.6. The date and time of the inspection
2.7. There are also buttons to look at the work order or the report, if applicable. More about those shortly.
2.8. There are Search Options near the top of the screen and a list of inspections below. Let’s start by looking at the Search Options.

3. Search Options
3.1. This section is a filter that lets you look at some of your inspections rather than all of them.
3.2. There are two list boxes and two buttons in this section.
3.3. The Inspectors buttons lets you look at one inspector’s inspections or at all of them. (If your company has one inspector, you won’t need to use this box.)
3.4. The Default position is all inspectors. We may want to look at the inspections for one inspector. We’ll click on the Inspectors box. (Figure 3)

Figure 3

3.5. A list of the inspectors has appeared in Figure 3.
3.6. Let’s select one name. When we click on the inspector, the screen looks like Figure 4.

Figure 4

3.7. Now we click on the Reset Filter button (to the right, on the same line), and we see only that inspector’s inspections. (Figure 5)

Figure 5

3.8. Now we see all the works in progress for this inspector.
3.9. That’s pretty simple. Let’s look at the Status section.
3.10. First we will click on the Default View button to get back to showing all inspectors and all works in progress. (Figure 6)

Figure 6

3.11. Figure 6 should look familiar since this is the screen we started with. We are back to the Default View.
3.12. Let’s click on the Status list to see what we get in Figure 7.

Figure 7

3.13. The first item is All Works in Progress, which is what we have been looking at. The last item is Report Generated. This is all of the reports that have been published. This is your archive or file cabinet.
There are four other items. These are works in progress:
3.13.1 Booked means inspections that have been set up, but the work order has not been sent to the report writing section. (Reports can be written either on the PDA or on the Web.)
3.13.2 Ready for PDA means the work order will go to the inspector’s PDA the next time it connects to the web.
3.13.3 On PDA means the work order is on the inspector’s PDA in the field.
3.13.4 Inspected means the work order is back on the web side. In most cases the work order and completed report will have come back from the PDA, ready for publishing.
3.14 You can get a list showing any report status you want.
3.15 You can filter any of these for all inspectors or just one.
3.16 Highlight the list item you want in Inspectors and Status and click Reset Filter.
3.17 You can always get back to All inspectors, All Work in Progress by clicking Default View.

4 Sort Options
4.1. We have looked at filtering, which removes some items from the display. We can also sort the inspections several ways. Let’s look at the typical My Schedule page in Figure 8.

Figure 8

4.2. This is the default layout for the list of inspections.
4.3. At the top of the inspection list are 6 links:
4.3.1. Report Number
4.3.2. Inspector
4.3.3. Address
4.3.4. Client
4.3.5. Status
4.3.6. Date & Time
4.4. We can arrange the inspection list several ways.
4.4.1. We can sort by report number by clicking on the link. Figure 9 shows us the result:

Figure 9

4.4.2. We can see the inspection Report Numbers are now arranged in descending order.
4.4.3. You can see we now have report number 1167 appearing first.

4.5. You can sort the list alphabetically by inspector’s last name, by clicking on Inspector. (Figure 10)

Figure 10

4.5.1. Clicking on Inspector a second time will sort by inspector’s last name in reverse alphabetical order.
4.5.2. You can sort by Inspection Address alphabetically by street name if you click on Address. (Figure 11).

Figure 11

4.5.2.1. If we click on Address again, we get the list sorted by Inspection Address in reverse alphabetical order. (Figure 12).

Figure 12

4.5.3. We can do the same thing with Client, sorting by their last name in alphabetical and reverse alphabetical order. We won’t show a sample, because we suspect you get the idea.
4.5.4. We can do the same thing with Status, sorting in alphabetical and reverse alphabetical order. Again we won’t show a sample.
4.5.5. The Date and Time button is interesting. Let’s start with the default view you get when you log in. Notice in Figure 13 that we show today’s inspections first, and then the rest are sorted from newest (including future inspections) to oldest.

Figure 13

4.5.5.1. Clicking Date & Time changes the sort order to oldest first. (Figure 14).

Figure 14

4.5.5.2. Clicking on Date & Time again will re-sort with the newest inspection first.
4.5.5.3. Every time we click on this button, we go back and forth between newest and oldest.
4.5.5.4. We can get back to the default screen with today’s inspections first, then newest to oldest by clicking Default View from the Search Options section near the top of the screen. That brings us back to the beginning. (Figure 15)

Figure 15

4.5.6. We have looked at the Report Number, Inspector, Client, Status and Date & Time buttons. Now let’s look at the last two columns.

5. View Work Order and View Report
5.1. We can look at each inspection work order by clicking on View Work Order icon. (Figure 16)
5.2. We can also look at the inspection report by clicking on the View Report icon. (Figure 16)
5.3. When there are many reports, there are several My Schedule screens. We can navigate through these screens with the previous and next buttons and the screen numbers at the bottom. There are typically 6 reports per screen.

Figure 16

6. Credit Balance
6.1. You always know how many credits you have from the Credits Available window.
6.2. When you get low on credits, it only takes a minute or two to replenish them by clicking on get more credits. Click and follow the simple instructions or see the Getting More Credits tutorial. (Figure 17)

Figure 17

This concludes our overview of the My Schedule screen. The Need Help? button brings you back to this document if you ever need to refresh your memory on the capabilities of this screen.

Note: Logout by clicking Click here to logout at the top right corner of your screen. You should always logout when you are done, rather than just closing your browser, for security reasons.
